OFFICIAL GAME RULES
đ TRADITIONAL RULES DETAILED
- COLOR ASSIGNMENTFirst player to legally pocket a coin is assigned that color. The opponent is automatically assigned the opposite color.
- QUEEN COVERINGThe Queen (red coin) can be pocketed at any stage. However, the player who pockets it must sink one of their own color coins in the next shot to "cover" the Queen. Failing to cover returns the Queen to the center.
- STRIKER FOULSPocketing the striker is a foul. As a penalty, one of your pocketed coins is returned to the center, and the turn passes.
đŋ POPPER RULES DETAILED
- SCORING POINTSPocketing any coin adds points: 10 points for White/Black coins, 50 points for the Queen. No cover shot is required for the Queen.
- RETAINING TURNSAs long as you pocket a coin legally, you retain your turn. If you make a shot and do not pocket any coin, the turn passes.
- FOUL PENALTYPocketing the striker reduces your score by 10 points (floor of 0) and the turn immediately passes to the opponent.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q What are the rules for pocketing the Queen in Carrom?
The red Queen can be pocketed at any time after you have pocketed at least one carrom man of your color. However, to keep the Queen, you must pocket another of your carrom men on the very next shot (called 'covering' the Queen). If you fail to cover, the Queen returns to the center circle.
Q What is a foul in Carrom?
A foul occurs if you pocket the striker itself (a 'due'). A penalty carrom man of your color is returned to the center circle, and your turn ends immediately.
Q Can I use bank shots off the wooden borders?
Yes! Cushion rebounds and bank shots are crucial for pocketing carrom men trapped behind obstacles or near corners.
